Recruited from Frankston Peninsula, Russell Greene made his VFL debut for St Kilda as a 16-year-old in 1974, going on to play for Hawthorn from 1980. Winner of 3 premierships with Hawthorn, All-Australian team player 1985, Played for Victoria in both the 1983 and 84 State of Origin teams, Russell is also a Leigh Mathews Trophy MVP and Peter Crimmins Medal Best and Fairest award winner.
